The Federal Board of Revenue, under S.R.O.Y (I)12024, exercises authority granted by section 50 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990. Through Notification No. 1525(1) /2023 dated November 10, 2023, and pursuant to rule 150Q, the FBR mandates electronic transmission of sales tax invoices. Effective from February 1, 2024, this notification applies to specific entities engaged in the supply chain of fast-moving consumer goods.
The designated entities encompass all importers and manufacturers of fast-moving consumer goods, wholesalers (including dealers) and distributors of such goods, along with wholesaler-cum-retailers involved in bulk import and supply to retailers.
FMCG sector will register their system using eFBR portal by providing the required data.
